Fab Lab Network · Node #KE‑07 · Kisumu

We turn ideas into
real-world solutions.

FabLab Winam is a community, open-access laboratory in Kisumu, Kenya — one node in a global network of over 2,000 fab labs across 100 countries. We turn ideas into prototypes, prototypes into products, and makers into founders, through digital fabrication, STEM education, and hands-on research.

01

Digital Fabrication

3D printing, CNC routing, laser cutting and PCB milling under one roof.

02

STEM & Robotics

Hands-on learning for kids, students and educators across the region.

03

Community Innovation

An open-access lab for makers, artisans, scientists and entrepreneurs.

04

About the lab

A hub for knowledge-share, fabrication, and invention.

We are part of a network of over 2,000 labs spread across 100 countries. With a customized set of tools and machines, our members make — and easily replicate — designs shared across the global Fab network.

Based in Kisumu in Western Kenya, we use people-centred design to tackle socio-economic challenges, closing the gap between classroom-learnt skills and real market needs — emphasizing local manufacturing and emerging technologies like IoT.

  • Digital fabrication & rapid prototyping
  • STEM, robotics & coding education
  • Community-driven, open-access innovation
  • Business incubation & local manufacturing
