We are a part of a network of over 2000 labs spread over 100 countries across the world. We have a customized set of tools and machines that enable users to make and easily replicate designs made by other members of the network.
FabLab Winam is a Community, open-access laboratory and a hub of knowledge-share, skills and digital fabrication, empowering the community (creative fabricators, artists, scientists, engineers, educators, students, amateurs, and professionals of all ages); through local and distributed manufacturing, research, and education.
We uphold a culture of making, collaboration, creativity and localization. We are located in Kisumu, Kenya serving innovators in the entire country but mostly those around the Lake Basin Region.

Our programs
SHE-builds
is a female-focused skill empowerment program aiming at building the capacity of females of 16 years and above with hands-on skills in manufacturing and other related fields that would lead to desired financial freedoms,
FabKids
We offer a STEM program during the holidays and as an after school program. The program aims at introducing STEM to kids at an early age enabling them to create interest in the different fields they can specialize at.
Fab Design Academy
This program was developed to cure the designing challenges that hinders local makers/manufacturers from producing the items that can compete in other markets.
Jua Kali Plus
Jua Kali Plus is a project for the Jua Kali artisans and is focused on improving the quality of locally manufactured products as well as the local production of spare parts.Fab Internships
This project was inspired by an admission by many Industry players that most students sent for attachment or internship posses a lot of burden to them and slow their production processes since the students are too green.Fab ICT
Due to demand for ICT lessons from the community we decided to start offering computer classes. Our curriculum is curated from real-world practical needs thus equipping learners with the relevant skills that they require.

Best printing services
Fablab winam has several 3D printers onsite used for rapid prototyping, we use plastic(filaments) in printing and are engaged in current research to utilize recycled plastic.
Best fabrication services
Fablab winam is equiped with a CNC Router that cuts wood into any desired shape. We provide CNC fabrication services that are inclusive of design and machining.
Affordable laser cutting services
Fablab Winam is equipped with a laser cutting machine that can engrave and cut wood, plastic, leather etc. Our machine has great accuracy and precision.
Simply the best
The lab also has a vinyl cutting machine that is used to produce different sticker cut outs used for branding and personal use.
More than One Life Changed
Fablab Winam has a PCB milling machine utilized to produce single and double sided prints on copper boards. The machine can draw tracts of various sizes, drill holes and cut the board outline with minimal distortion.

Our Fab Furniture production line excels in creating customized furniture using digital production techniques making sure the fabrication process is highly interactive with the consumer and the fabricator. This enhances creativity and efficiency in production.
